The late goals just keep coming in the Champions League. In a tight game yesterday, Barcelona took a narrow 1-0 lead into the 90th minute away to a then 10-man Manchester City. It was deja vu today about 200 miles south in London when Bayern Munich came calling at the Emirates. After a close game for the first half, with chances for both teams, Bayern finally broke the tie with a Toni Kroos goal 10 minutes into the second half. Arsenal had also lost a player at this point, making a comeback even less likely. However, they held the Germans at bay until the very end of the game when Thomas Muller netted a 2nd, perhaps tie-clinching goal.
Over in Italy, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid kept each other goalless for the majority of the game, with the home team driving more of the action, though the visitors having a few good chances. However, yet again, the visiting team managed to snag a potentially critical late goal through Diego Costa. This sends the tie back to Spain with Milan needing to come out aggressive to undo the home loss.
